Update June 12, 2010.
With the 1.12/2.7/3.3 game updates for the Base Game, WA & Ambitions, it's been found that a new file format for
the OBJD was introduced.
Not all objects were converted to the new format but many ( Including some of the Rabbit Holes ) were converted.
The conversion allows of the new Ambitions features to be appied to some of the older objects.
Features such being burned in a fire beyond usability, destroyable to gain scrap for the inventor, sculptability,
many were adjusted to work with the old and new gnomes.
Many of the old Rabbit Holes have new interactions added to them, and new objects have been added to help you
make new Venues ( a Rabbit Hole that you can see into and interact with your sims in.)
Basic testing has shown that the Custom Rabbit Hole Collection is compatable with this patch, but there may be some compatability issues with a few core mods (such as Awsome Mod) , That I can't fix, since these are Object Mods, not
Core Mods
Now on to the Mods!
Welcome to the Custom Rabbit Hole Collection!
15 Custom Rabbit holes in the form of simple, recolorable 2x2 rugs.
Usage:
Build your own building representing a rabbit hole, then place the rug,
inside or ouside, at the door you want to represent your rabbit hole.
Sims will disappear/reappear into/out of the rabbit hole at the rug.
The arrow built into the green footprint (visibility when placing or moving objects)
will point to the side sims must approach from, so the square in front of the rug
must remain unblocked.
Remember to place doors before placing the rug, to make sure routing through the door is not blocked.
Rabbit Holes Included:
Book Store
Grocery
Diner
Day Spa
School House
Movie Theatre
City Hall
Newspaper Office (Business & Journalism jobs)
Military Base
Science Center
Sports Stadium
Mausoleum
Hospital
Criminal Hideout
Police Station
Installation:
Patch 1.12/2.7/3.3 introduced a new way to use community made Custom Content.
Please read
this thread here at CS3,
for basic info.
If you want more specific, please read the response in that thread for links to MTS which has a longerartical on the process.
Thanks to :
Sookielee for the icons adorning each rug.
Those that tested and tested and tested
Those that came up with ideas, suggestions and ecouragement.
Thank You
Footnot:
At this time I'm not going to do the bistro, since it can be impersonated with the Diner's rug.
and I haven't been able to the enter/exit slots for it, so to ease the headaches, i'll
just say the diner an be cloned and used as a bistro.
Terms of Use:
Instead of using a TOU in my signature, I feel these objects need thier own TOU.
You may use these objects in you Sims 3 game as you see fit.
You may take apart the package file to learn how it was done.
You may use them as templates to help you make you own.
You may NOT say you they're your creations, give credit were credit is due.
You may NOT Hotlink to these files.
You mat link to this forum, instead.
You may NOT place these objects for download on a website that requires paid membership.
I believe that anyone who wants to disamble them, should be able to, it's part of the learning experience.
And after, these objects are not truelly mine.
MelissaMel of MTS is the first known to have made replacement rabbit holes. So My ideas started with her work.
Ghostof CS3, to my knowledge, is the one who fought for the rug idea.
Sookielee of CS3 , supplied graphics and time testing
Regina of CS3, spent her precious time testing time after time.
And many others encouraged me when frustration high high.
So I do not claim to be thier creator, neither may you.
I merely found a way to make a verson of these, that worked correctly and incorporated the ideas of many other,
So may you, if you try honestly.
